Founded in 1974, the Staunton Waynesboro Augusta Tennis Association (SWAT) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) foundation - chartered Community Tennis Association that promotes tennis-related events for players of all ages and abilities in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County, Virginia.

SWAT organizes several annual tennis tournaments providing all age groups and skill levels several opportunities to compete throughout the year.

Tennis Instruction

SWAT offers low-cost tennis instruction to the community through its Youth Tennis Camp and Junior Tennis League for young players and Tuesday Night Tennis for adult players.

SWAT awards two $1500 college scholarships annually to area high school tennis players who have excelled both on and off the tennis court.

SWAT Junior Tennis League

The Staunton Waynesboro Augusta Tennis Association is beginning its first season of junior team tennis this summer on July 10th. Boys and girls ages 8 - 18 meet for instruction on Wednesdays at 6 pm and then for match-play on Thursdays at 6 pm. Players are placed on teams which will compete for a championship! The league runs for 6 consecutive weeks.

Tuesday Night Tennis (TNT)

Tuesday Night Tennis (TNT) features one hour of group instruction by local tennis professionals for beginner and intermediate level adult tennis players followed by one hour of round-robin doubles play. This year's TNT will be held on the tennis courts at Mary Baldwin University. Participation in TNT is FREE for SWAT members and $5 per night for non-members. No registration is necessary.
